Air Travel Strong at MSP This Summer And Busy Holiday Weekend Expected

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Air travel at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is spiking and is expected to rise more over the Labor Day weekend.

Metropolitan Airports Commission CEO Brian Ryks says that he is seeing stronger summer travel, with some days in July exceeding 2019 figures. He adds that the impact of COVID variants on fall air travel remains uncertain.

Officials say Friday was the busiest of the holiday weekend with 31 thousand bookings, compared to 15-thousand-800 this same day last year.
