Bond Reduced for North Fargo Murder Suspect

(Fargo, ND) -- A Cass County judge has reduced bond to $500,000 for a Fargo man charged with a deadly shooting near NDSU after the accused killer's attorney suggested his client acted in self-defense.

Raymond Gunn appeared in Cass County District Court Wednesday on a felony murder charge. He is accused of killing 41-year-old Eric Hayes of Fargo on July 24th near the University Drive Loaf 'N Jug. Prosecutors allege Gunn pulled a gun on Hayes that night, but it’s unclear why. The defense says video show Gunn retreating from Hayes before the shooting.

Bond was kept higher than the $250,000 requested by the defense because of Gunn reportedly being a "flight risk" since he has ties to Illinois. Gunn's initial bond was set at one million dollars.

Gunn's attorney said he is not planning to run, rather prove his innocence as the trial continues.
