Fargo Parents, Community Members to Hold Mask Mandate Protest Monday

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo parents and community members are set to sound off on the School District's decision to mandate masks.

Monday at 8 a.m. outside Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, a group of protestors are expected to gather on the sidewalk to show their outrage at the mandate laid down by the School Board earlier this month.

"It's scary to see your rights be pulled away," said Organizer Cassie Schmidt, who is homeschooling her three children because of her distrust in leadership in the district. "We're not expecting to cause any disruptions or anything, were mainly focused on letting parents know they have support on these issues."

Schmidt is also part of a group that is working to recall at least four school board members for what they call a lack of listening to parents and community members that stems back before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
