(Fargo, ND) -- An open spot on the board isn't the only challenge facing Fargo's Municipal Airport Authority.

New Chief of the MAA Rick Engen says while the day-to-day operations of Hector International Airport remain in the hands of executive director Shawn Dobberstein, managing tenant relationships and helping shape the future of what the airport does and looks like falls on his and his fellow authority members shoulders.

"We look at economic impact and projects 10 years down the road," said Engen. "Our relationships with the entire area, West Fargo, Moorhead and around the metro are all also important. We know we serve people around 100 miles away, and we take that seriously."

Engen says work and planning is continuing on things like parking lot expansion, and terminal expansion too.
