Moorhead Police Investigating Homicide

(Moorhead, MN) -- The Moorhead Police Department is investigating a reported homicide.

Authorities say that on Friday at approximately 8:00 pm, officers responded to gunshot calls in the 3000 block of 17th Street South. When they arrived, a bystander was treating an adult victim at 17th Street and 30th Avenue South. The Moorhead Fire Department and Sanford Ambulance initiated emergency medical care; however, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.

At this time, no further victim or suspect information is available. No one is in custody, and this case is still very active. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The Moorhead Police Department is being assisted on the scene by members of the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Members of the BCA Crime Scene Team are also en route to assist.
