Changes Coming to Sheyenne Street Segment Three Project

 

Beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 8, local access will change for the two neighborhood areas east of Sheyenne Street in the Segment 3 project limits (32nd Avenue West to 40th Avenue West). Sheyenne Street, between south of 32nd Avenue West and north of 34th Avenue West, will close to all traffic to begin roadway removals and continue underground work in this next section. The intersections of 34th Avenue West and Golden Spike will reopen for local access use. Previously local access was maintained at 32nd Avenue West And Sheyenne Street intersection.

When the traffic shift occurs, to reach the east side Sheyenne Street neighborhoods:

  • NORTH ACCESS: The north neighborhoods residential access will shift from 32nd Avenue West to use of 34th Avenue West to travel in and out of the neighborhood. 
    • Motorists will travel to the posted detour route on Ninth Street to head north to 32nd Avenue West or south to 40th Avenue West. 
  • SOUTH ACCESS: The south neighborhoods will continue to use the south entrance at 38th Avenue East.
    • Motorists will travel to the posted detour route on Ninth Street to head north to 32nd Avenue West or south to 40th Avenue West. 

Motorists should plan for delays and congestion during the morning and evening commutes and adjust their travel plans accordingly throughout the Sheyenne Street corridor.

As work progresses through the Sheyenne Street corridor, drivers are encouraged to eliminate distractions and slow down as work zone configurations may frequently shift.
