Two Fargo Elementary Schools to Participate in Free Breakfast, Lunch Program

Fargo Public Schools is pleased to announce that Madison and Jefferson Elementary Schools will participate in a free breakfast and lunch program for the 2019-20 school year.  This program is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).  CEP is a four-year reimbursement option for eligible schools participating in both the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program that wish to offer free meals to all students in a school with a high prevalence of low-income families without collecting free and reduced meal applications.

All students enrolled at Madison and Jefferson Elementary Schools may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge.  Household applications are not required to receive free meals.

All other schools within the Fargo Public Schools will continue to require payment for school meals.  A Free and Reduced Price Meal Application will need to be completed by households to determine if a student attending a school other than Madison and Jefferson qualify for free or reduced price meals.

Additional information on CEP can be found on the USDA website at this link.
