42nd Street South reopens over I-94 overpass

This afternoon, crews completed work on Phase 1 of the 42nd Street pavement repair project and have re-opened 42nd Street over I-94.

Now crews will move the work zone south.  For drivers, this means traffic will be carried in a single lane in each direction on 42nd Street.

During CPR projects, crews remove the bad areas of concrete pavement and replace the area with new concrete. Sections of the roadway will re-open to traffic once designed strength has been achieved on the new concrete.  Work will be completed on the last phase of the CPR project by mid-October.  With crews working so close to moving traffic in CPR work zones, drivers are reminded to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay attention to signage.

Speeds are reduced in the work zone.
