UPDATE: Crews begin clearing scene of struck gas main

 

12:15 p.m. Update: Crews have begun clearing the scene and are working to restore traffic flows in the area.

11:42 A.M. UPDATE: Melissa Richard, Communications Director for the City of West Fargo, tells WZFG News crews are still on the scene of the gas main strike on Sheyenne Street. Richard says crews 'expect to be out of the area by this afternoon.'

ORIGINAL STORY: The City of West Fargo says Sheyenne Street is closed from South of the I-94 bridge to 26th Avenue West.

Crews are on the scene responding to a gas main that has been struck in the area, according to the West Fargo Fire Department. The incident happened just after 10 a.m.

The department is asking drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
