I-94 eastbound between Garfield and Alexandria reopens

Eastbound Interstate 94 between the exits to Garfield and Alexandria has been reopened to traffic. This section of I-94 has been under construction since April as crews were resurfacing eastbound I-94 between Highway 114 and Highway 29, and replacing the eastbound bridge over Lake Latoka.

Motorists in both directions may encounter alternating and/or intermittent lane closures to allow for completion of permanent striping, guardrail work and crossover removals.

The Lake Latoka Rest Area, which has been closed during construction, has also been reopened.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds motorists to always drive with caution, and appreciates the traveling public’s patience and commitment to safety during the project.
