Grand Forks Police respond to stolen vehicle call

 

Grand Forks Police responded to a motor vehicle theft Saturday afternoon, just after 4 p.m.

According to a news release, at approximately 4:16 p.m., officers responded to the Rite Spot Liquor Store, located at 1901 South Washington Street.

According to witnesses, the suspect, who was identified as 30-year-old Andrew FlyingHorse, took a vehicle from the business parking lot and crashed into a dumpster and parked vehicle north of the business.

FlyingHorse was then observed by witnesses fleeing on foot southbound on South 12th Avenue.

Officers were directed tot he area where the suspect was last observed, where they located damage to the exterior door of an apartment complex on the 1100 block of 22nd Avenue South. Once inside the building, officers observed that a door had been kicked in to an unoccupied apartment, where the suspect was found hiding and taken into custody.​

FlyingHorse was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, trespassing and several other charges related to the incident.
