On Wednesday, August 1, members of the Fargo Board of Education will show their appreciation and thank several hundred Fargo Public Schools (FPS) employees for their work over the summer months in buildings throughout the District with a traditional picnic lunch at Oak Grove Park. Board members will grill hamburgers and chicken, and serve the group a meal that includes the traditional picnic accompaniments of potato and pasta salads, summer fruits, chips, cookies, and beverages.

The event ends with drawings for prizes collected from vendors who do business with FPS, along with gift items and certificates donated by various local businesses and restaurants.

Summer FPS employees include both full-time year-round and seasonal part- to full-time positions. Last year, more than 190 FPS employees attended the picnic.
