Senate confirms VA Deputy Secretary

U.S. Senator and Senate Veterans Affairs Committee member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on the Senate confirming James Byrne’s nomination to be Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):

“It is good to see more leadership positions being filled in the VA. More leaders there means more people working to give our veterans access to the assistance and care they deserve. I plan to work on these important issues with Mr. Byrne and all VA leaders, including Secretary Wilkie, whom I look forward to hosting in North Dakota soon. His visit will allow us to put him face-to-face with our veteran community and to show him the hyperbaric oxygen clinic in Fargo.”

Senator Cramer invited Secretary Wilkie during a meeting in the Senator’s office and a subsequent committee hearing, where the two discussed hyperbaric oxygen therapy and the Secretary committed to visiting Fargo.
