North Dakota receives water quality grants

 

U.S. Senator and Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today two North Dakota projects received grants totaling $151,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality was awarded $100,000 to fund the state’s Water Quality Management Planning program to improve impaired water and protect unimpaired waters across the state. This statewide program is designed to increase public awareness and understanding about the protection and improvement of water quality.

North Dakota State University was awarded $51,000 for its Consolidated Pesticide Enforcement Program. It will fund the development and maintenance of a comprehensive pesticide applicator program addressing all aspects of pesticide applicator certification and training.
