Cooperstown man jailed in Grafton; faces terrorizing and aggravated assault charges

 

A 63-year-old Cooperstown man is jailed and had a bond hearing this morning in Walsh County District Court in Grafton.

According to court documents, on Saturday at just before 7 p.m. authorities were notified that a male was in the Select Inn in Grafton, threatening to kill residents there with a firearm.

Authorities arrived on scene and was informed of the same information by a resident of the Select Inn, as well as the manager. The manager stated that the suspect, Richard H. Sutcliffe, was going to "kill everybody" if the police came. The manager and resident also stated the resident had been choked by the male.

At that time, authorities had all residents evacuate the building. The victim then exited the room shortly after.

Sutcliffe then exited the room and was later arrested.

Sutcliffe faces two Class C felonies, one for terrorizing and another for aggravated assault (domestic violence).
