Moorhead's Woodland Water Tower Receives New Artwork

Moorhead’s Woodland Water Tower is soon going to sport a new look.

On Wednesday, at 1 p.m., Moorhead Public Service will be unveiling the artwork in a ceremony at the water tower itself.

Water Division Manager Kris Knutson tells WZFG News that the public is welcome to attend the event, but is asked to stay on the public right of way, not on the water tower sight itself.

Local artist Suzanne Legatt organized a public input process whereby Moorhead Public Service staff and City of Moorhead staff worked collaboratively to gather community input for the design. After community input was received, local artists Stephen Dorsey and Jack Lunde created the design. The design features several historical landmarks surrounding the Woodlawn Park area, and several natural and recreational elements of the neighborhood.

Rehabilitation on the tower began June 4th, and is anticipated to wrap up in August.
