Grand Forks Police conduct alcohol compliance checks

Grand Forks Police say they've conducted their latest alcohol compliance checks.

The checks were done with the assistance of area youths on September 25. A total of 20 businesses were checked.

Out of the 20 businesses checked, one business failed. The business that failed was the Rite Spot 2. The Grand Forks Police Department conducts several of these checks each year.

The Police Department uses youth from the community, who are under 21 years of age. The youth enter an alcohol establishment under the supervision of a police officer, in accordance with city ordinances.

The youth then attempts to purchase alcohol, while in no way concealing their actual age.
