Special Election Set in Richland School District

A special election is being held Thursday in the Richland School District. The election is a recall attempt for the spots on the board.

It all stems from the last few months, in which the district has been affected by allegations of sexual misconduct.

Three spots on the board are up for grabs – and the members currently holding those spots are running.

In Area 1, which includes the Eagle North township, current board member Josh Mjoness is running. He is being challenged by Scott Hendrickson and Derek Beito.

In Area 3, which includes the City of Abercrombie, current board member Lisa Amundson is running to retain her seat.  She is being challenged by Amy Lehmann.

And in Area 6, which includes the City of Colfax, current board member Sarah Myers is running to keep her seat on the board. Myers is being challenged by Paul Lucas and Jody Lingen.

Areas one and three are for one-year terms each, while area six is a two-year term.

The election sites will be at the Richland High School in Colfax, and at the community halls in both Christine and Abercrombie. Polls will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
