Students to see building industry career close-up

Today, Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead, and its charity, Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation, are partnering with Fargo and West Fargo Public Schools to showcase building industry careers to 52 students. They will host tours of multiple job sites in different stages showing residential homes under construction.

Student groups are visiting ISR Homes’ sites from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Village Green 6th development located southeast of Village Green Golf Course in Moorhead.

Builder Dan Parrow will give tours and explain the various construction techniques and employment skills required to build homes to Fargo North and West Fargo High School students enrolled in Construction I.

HBA of F-M CEO Bryce Johnson says, "By working with the local schools and our member contractors, we are exposing different construction career paths that are available to these students, demonstrating that futures in construction are lucrative, challenging and rewarding.

Students will receive information and details on the Herdina Academy for the Construction Trades June 1-12. It is a two-week summer program that allows students age 15 and older to experience the many facets of construction hands-on while working with professionals in the field.
