Aggravated assault, robbery in Grand Forks

 

On Saturday, at 1:31 a.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the area of 2500 Block 14th Avenue South, for a male subject who had just been stabbed.  Information was put out about two suspects and a description was provided.  Officers arrived on scene and located the victim who had been cut several times with a sharp object.  The victim was able to provide more details about the suspects and their possible direction of travel.  The victim also stated that the assault occurred as part of an attempted robbery. Officers set up a perimeter in the area and a K9 track was initiated. 

The victim was transported to Altru Hospital to be treated for the injuries suffered during the assault.  The injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

Perimeter officers located and detained two subjects in the 2000 block of 11th Avenue South, that matched the description provided by the victim.  Through the investigation, it was determined that these two subjects were the suspects in this case.  The subjects were placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault and Robbery.  They are 20-year-old Aureilo B. Carrizales​ and 22-year-old Brenton J. Headbird-Wenell, both of East Grand Forks, Minn.
