USDA awards grant to Sitting Bull College

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced yesterday the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved a grant of $76,500 for Sitting Bull College under the Outreach and Assistance for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers and Veteran Farmers and Ranchers Program (also known as 2501 program).

The 2501 program is designed to help socially disadvantaged farmers, ranchers, and foresters, who have historically experienced limited access to USDA loans, grants, training, and technical assistance. Specifically, Sitting Bull College will use these funds to develop and provide Ag Borrower training to farmers, ranchers, and veterans as well as provide agricultural youth training and technical assistance for young people.

USDA announced it will issue $16.2 million in grants to provide training, outreach, and technical assistance to underserved and veteran farmers and ranchers.
