Challeys gift 75 million dollars to NDSU

Robert and Sheila Challey have made a big announcement in Fargo this evening—one that will benefit a large amount of North Dakota State University’s campus.

The Challeys have gifted 75 million dollars to NDSU, according to WZFG Radio’s Steve Hallstrom.

NDSU says the gift will assist in funding many different aspects of the college, as a part of the school’s fundraising campaign.

The gift will help fund 100 undergraduate music scholarships, NDSU’s Foundation says. It will also help the campus to fund a “large addition to the music building on campus.”

In addition to helping fund aspects of the music department, the gift will help fund The Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth, doctoral stipends and endowed faculty positions.

The announcement was made during the ‘In Our Hands: The Campaign for NDSU’ event, held at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
