Today, at approximately 6:13 p.m., an officer from the Grand Forks Police Department attempted a traffic stop of a tan Chevrolet Tahoe for an improper turn. The vehicle fled northbound on South Washington St. from the 1700 block with speeds reaching up to 80 miles per hour. Due to the factors of the time of day, traffic flow and speeds the pursuit was terminated, however, the vehicle was located abandoned minutes later in the 500 block of North Washington Street. A police K9 was deployed at the scene in an attempt to track the suspect however no one was ultimately located.
The Grand Forks Police Department was assisted by the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office during this incident. This is still an open and active investigation and anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department
