Grand Forks crash causes traffic backup

On Monday, at approximately 8:16 p.m., officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were called to the 2800 block of Demers Avenue, for a motor vehicle crash involving three cars.

Initial investigation revealed that a silver 2015 Chrysler 200, driven by 21 year old Tayler Scott of Grand Forks, was traveling west bound on Demers and attempted to turn south onto South Columbia Road at the on ramp. During the turn Scott’s vehicle collided with a dark green 1998 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 19 year old James Soileau of Grand Forks, that was traveling east bound.  This caused the Toyota to crash into a dark blue 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 20 year old Jasmin Stevens of Grand Forks.  Stevens’s vehicle was stopped at the stop sign waiting to merge onto Demers Avenue.

No injuries were reported during this incident.

Scott was cited for failure to yield.

East bound traffic flow on Demers Avenue was closed for approximately one hour while first responders attended to the crash.
