Fargo Cass Public Health to host community event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On Friday, the Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) Women's Way program will host a free community event featuring guest speakers and a panel discussion about the importance of breast cancer screening. Panel members will include a breast cancer survivor, City of Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney, the FCPH Women's Way Coordinator Kristina Kluth and Kristi Lee-Weyrauch, Public Health Nurse. FCPH invites the community to attend this event and learn more about valuable cancer screening resources available through the Women’s Way program.

Each year, more than 250,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,500 will die. The FCPH Women's Way program provides free breast cancer screenings for women who are age 40-64 and who meet income eligibility requirements. Kristina Kluth says, “The Women’s Way program can save lives by providing important screening opportunities for both breast and cervical cancer.”

The event will take place from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. in the Oak Room at Fargo Cass Public Health. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink and refreshments will be served.
