City of Fargo sends sandbags to Jamestown

Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney tells WZFG News that the City of Fargo has sent several sandbags to the City of Jamestown, to aid in the flood fight the city is undertaking.

The City of Jamestown is currently seeking volunteers to assist in the sandbagging process, and, because Jamestown helped Fargo in 2009, Mahoney said it was time to help Jamestown.

The City of Fargo has 400,000 sandbags left from the spring 2019 flood fight, so it sent a total of 40,000 sandbags to Jamestown.

"It's neighbors helping neighbors," Mahoney said.

Volunteers are being sought for sandbag placement tomorrow and Saturday. Anyone interested in volunteering should arrive at the Jamestown Civic Center parking lot at 8 a.m.
