Grand Forks man arrested following pursuit

 

This morning, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Grand Forks Police officers responded to a medical call at Hugo’s Grocery Store at 1925 13th Avenue North.​ PSAP reported that a man was reported to be unconscious in the rest room there.

When officers arrived  PSAP said the man had left the store.  An officer saw the man get into a Jeep SUV and take off at a high rate of speed south on North 20th Street.  The officers saw the vehicle turn off of North 20th Street and then after a short time  they lost the vehicle. The vehicle was located unoccupied off the alley in the 1900 block of 2nd Avenue North.

Several people in the area gave officers directions for the man, who was now fleeing on foot.  He was pursued on foot for several blocks by officers and caught in the 1600 block of 2nd Avenue North 

The man was identified as Joshua Bruce, age 32 of Grand Forks.  Bruce was arrested and brought to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.  Bruce is charged with possession of heroin, possession of meth,  possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension,  fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and a District warrant for fraud.
