Fargo Cass Public Health offers flu shot clinics

Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) would like to remind the community that receiving an annual flu shot is the best protection against the influenza virus. In an effort to increase influenza vaccination rates, FCPH will hold two flu shot clinics this fall, both of which will be open to the public. The first ‘Flu Shot Friday’ event will take place Friday, October 25 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The second event will take place Friday, November 22, from 8 – 11 a.m. Flu shots will be available for anyone age 6 months and older. Both events will take place in the Linden Room at Fargo Cass Public Health, located at 1240 25th Street South. Those who wish to receive a flu shot are reminded to bring Medicare or health insurance information to the clinic.

Receiving an annual vaccine is the best way to reduce your risk of getting sick with seasonal flu and spreading it to others. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctor visits and missed work and school due to flu. Jessica Leitch, FCPH Immunization Coordinator, says, “We don’t just get the flu shot to protect ourselves; we get it to protect our community and the vulnerable members within it.”
