Statue Damaged at Fargo Catholic Church

The Statue of Virgin Mary, located at Fargo’s St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, has been damaged, according to church officials.

Deidra Lies, office administrator at the church, says the statue was vandalized sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

The head of the statue was found shortly after 6 a.m.Wednesday on the ground, near the statue, by parishoners.

Lies says the vandalism is sad moreso because the statue was a donation that had been there for more than two years.

She says it’s a concrete statue, so it is very hard to break.
