Moorhead Police respond to disturbance with a gun

On Saturday, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Moorhead Police officers were dispatched to a business in the 2200 block of 14th Avenue South.  An employee called 911 to report someone broke down the door and "held him up" with a gun.  The caller provided limited information to dispatch.  Officers arriving on scene saw a vehicle driving away but were not in position to catch up to it.  Officers spoke with the complainant who said he knew who the male was that showed up and described an ongoing property dispute between them.  The complainant said he never unlocked or opened the door when the male was pounding.  The complainant thought the male had a gun because of a comment he thought he heard the male say while outside of the business.  Officers determined that forced entry didn't occur.  Officers located the other male a short time later at his residence.  This male was cooperative with officers during their investigation and provided a statement.

This investigation is on-going.  No injuries or gunshots were reported and no arrests have been made.  Once complete, investigating officers will forward their case to the Prosecutor if they believe a crime has been committed.
