Students to present living wax museum

The 83 third grade students at Kennedy Elementary School have researched an individual, written his or her biography and will now slip into character to present that individual in a Living Wax Museum.  The project is part of the curriculum unit on the genre of biographies.  Students selected an individual whose life they’d like to research, worked on research and note-taking skills, and created a presentation of the individual.  Some examples of student choices include Elvis Presley, Bill Gates, Amelia Earhart, Babe Ruth, Gabby Douglas, Steve Jobs, Stan Lee, Walt Disney, Jackie Robinson, King Tut, Malala Yousafzai, and Henry Ford.

At the Living Wax Museum, students will dress like their researched individual and give a 1-2 minute presentation about that person.  Additionally, the students have created a trifold board describing their selected individual and will have artifacts at their presentation that further share about their individual.  Parents and special guests have been invited to attend the Living Wax Museum.

The event will be held Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m., in the multipurpose room at Kennedy Elementary School in Fargo.
