Scientists in the Field event planned for Fargo elementary school

On Thursday, October 31, the eight fifth grade language arts enrichment students at Centennial Elementary School will present their findings for Scientist in the Field.

The fifth grade language arts enrichment students researched their scientist of choice using the book series Scientist in the FieldStudents will now present their research findings posing as their scientist of choice. Centennial Staff, fellow fifth grade Centennial students, and parents are invited to attend.

This research and presentation are a “springboard” to a series of exposure to science topics for the fifth grade students throughout the school year.  North Dakota State University graduate students will visit Centennial’s Gifted & Talented classroom once a month to expose students to various science topics.  The goal is to help inspire young kids about science and to show what being a scientist is truly like.

The Scientists in the Field series shows people immersed in the unpredictable and dynamic natural world, making science more accessible, relevant, and exciting to young readers.

The Scientists in the Field event will take place Thursday, from 9:20 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., in the multipurpose room at Centennial Elementary in Fargo.
