Cramer issues statement on Democrat vote to reverse 1332 State Innovation Waivers

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on Senate Democrats forcing a vote to reverse 1332 State Innovation Waivers which allow states to waive certain provisions of Obamacare:

“Last week they wanted to raise taxes. The week before, they wanted to raise electricity bills. Now, Senate Democrats are demanding we consider raising health insurance premiums. If passed, this would dramatically increase the cost of health care for North Dakotans while doing nothing to protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. This is reckless political stunt by Senate Democrats, and I urge my colleagues to oppose yet another attack on the American peoples’ livelihood.”

North Dakota, which received this waiver from the Trump Administration for next year, anticipates premiums in the state will decline by 20%.
