Moorhead Woman Faces Charges

At 6:45 PM Friday, Moorhead Police officers were called to the Northsider Bar for a disturbance.  It was reported that a female inside the bar was yelling profanities and refusing to leave.  Officers arrived on scene and identified the female as Michelle Beth Swenson of Moorhead.

Swenson continued to yell profanities at staff and refused to follow the officers' commands to leave the establishment.

Swenson was placed under arrest for obstructing legal process and disorderly conduct.  Officers escorted Swenson out of the bar and attempted to handcuff her.

She began to assault the officers by scratching and gouging at both of them during and after the handcuffing procedure.  She caused injuries on both officers significant enough to draw blood.  She has been charged with 2 counts of 4th Degree Assault (police officer), 1 count of Disorderly Conduct and one count of Obstructing Legal Process.
