An accident in Devils Lake has left a tractor-trailer totaled and the driver without injuries. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Michael Pribyl was driving the Volvo tractor-trailer west on Hwy 2, pulling a trailer loaded with hay. He noticed smoke coming from the load and stopped the vehicle on the roadside. Fire spread to the rest of the load and the vehicle, resulting in severe damage. Neither Pribyl nor anyone else was injured.
Traffic on US Hwy 2 was diverted around the incident until the fire was extinguished and the roadway cleaned up, about three hours.
