Juvenile injured in Grand Forks crash

 

On Saturday, at approximately 5:41 p.m., a Grand Forks Police officer witnessed a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Demers Avenue and South Washington Street. A black 2019 Ford Focus being driven by 19 year old Ethan Johnson of Roseau, Minn., was traveling northbound on South Washington Street and attempted to turn left to go west on Demers Avenue. A white 2018 Ford F150 being driven by 39 year old Jerome Lowe of East Grand Forks, Minn., was traveling southbound on South Washington Sreett. The Ford Focus pulled in front of the Ford F150. The Ford F150 struck the Ford Focus in the intersection. The driver of the Ford Focus, Ethan Johnson was issued a citation for failure to yield at a controlled intersection. One juvenile passenger in the Ford Focus was transported to Altru via ambulance with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Several lanes of Traffic were blocked off for about 30 minutes while GFPD Officers conducted their investigation.
