Crash results in injuries, possible charges

A crash near the border of Dilworth and Moorhead has sent three people to the hospital.

Dilworth Police Chief Ty Sharpe tells WZFG News that a car was westbound on Highway 10 at a high rate of speed, when they didn’t stop, striking a southbound Range Rover.

Two people in the westbound vehicle, along with the lone individual in the Range Rover, were sent to area hospitals, with what is being described as ‘non-life threatening’ injuries, Sharpe says. Both vehicles, as a result of the crash, were disabled.

Citations are likely, Sharpe says. The driver of the car will eventually be cited with, at a minimum, reckless driving, causing an accident with injury along with failing to stop at a red light.

The Moorhead Fire Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly and were on scene to assist the Dilworth Police Department’s staff of three, Sharpe says.
