Delegates to the 77th NDFB Annual Meeting, held at the Holiday Inn, Fargo, Nov. 22-23, reelected Daryl Lies of Douglas, to a two-year term as NDFB President. Also reelected to a two-year term is NDFB Vice President Dana Kaldor of Hillsboro.
The NDFB Board of Directors is comprised of the president, elected at large, and individuals elected from each of the nine NDFB Districts, the Promotion and Education Committee chair and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chair.
In 2015, Lies was first elected as the NDFB President. He and his wife, Kim, raise hogs, sheep and goats with an emphasis in show animals. He is a 4-H leader and on the McLean County Fair Board. The Lies have two children.
Kaldor and his wife, Dawn, have a farm near Hillsboro and raise soybeans, corn and wheat. Kaldor was first elected to the NDFB board representing district 2 in 2015 and has been serving as vice president since 2017. The Kaldors have three children.
In addition, three members were newly elected to the NDFB Board of Directors.
Craig Vaughn of Cavalier was elected to a three-year term as the District 1 Director. He farms corn, wheat, soybeans, and field peas and raises purebred Limousin cattle. Vaughn and his wife, Kelly, sat on the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer and Rancher Committee for two years and he served as the vice chair for one year. The Vaughns have two children.
John Leadbetter of Wishek was elected to a three-year term as the District 5 Director. Leadbetter runs a small herd of registered Simmental and Red Angus cattle and is an ag loan officer and auctioneer. He is a volunteer fireman and on his local ambulance squad. Leadbetter and his wife, Mandi, have one child.
Elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chairwoman is Jessica Dukart of Dickinson. Jessica received an ag degree from Dickinson State University and works at Southwest Water Authority. She first became involved with NDFB as a Dickinson State University collegiate member.
Reelected to District 6 is Nathan Fegley of Berthold. He will serve his second three-year term. Fegley and his wife, Katie, raise wheat, canola, soybean, corn and peas. The Fegleys have four children.
Other NDFB Directors are District 3 Director Tom Christensen of Verona, District 4 Director Trisa Tedrow of New Rockford, District 7 Director Lucas Lang of Sterling, District 8 Director Kirk Olson of Arnegaard, District 9 Director Weston Dvorak of Manning and Promotion and Education Committee Chair Alysa Leier of Minot.
