Overnight vehicle pursuits in Clay County

 

On Monday, just after 1 a.m., a Clay County Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for having obstructed plates. The driver of the vehicle fled from the deputy and eventually lost control and slid into a snowbank. The driver then fled on foot and after a brief foot pursuit, she was taken into custody. A passenger in the vehicle also fled on foot and was not located.

The driver was identified as a Jessica Schweninger, 33-year-old female from Hitterdal, Minnesota. Schweinger is being held at the Clay County Correctional Center for Felony Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle.

At 1:35 a.m., while Deputies and Moorhead Officers were attempting to locate the passenger that fled from Schweninger’s vehicle, they observed a stolen vehicle drive past them in the area of 13th Street and 16th Avenue South. Another Clay County Deputy attempted to stop the stolen vehicle and that vehicle then fled from them. The driver of this vehicle lost control and slid into a snowbank and the three occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot in the area of 9th Street and 9th Avenue South.

All of the occupants were located, and they are identified as:

DRIVER:

Phillip Murray, 30-year-old male from Moorhead.

Currently being held in the Clay County Correctional Center for Felony Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and for being in Possession of Stolen Property.

PASSENGERS:

Jillian Cline, 34-year-old female from Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Booked and Released from the Correctional Center for Misdemeanor Fleeing on Foot

Travis Freitag, 27-year-old male from Jamestown, North Dakota.

Booked and Released from the Correctional Center for Misdemeanor Fleeing on Foot
