Armacost named 13th President at the University of North Dakota

 

2:25 PM UPDATE: The State Board of Higher Education has selected Dr. Andrew Armacost as the 13th President of the University of North Dakota. He will begin his position as soon as possible after contract negotiations are complete.

Armacost will replace Mark Kennedy, who was named president of the University of Colorado System last spring. Dr. Joshua Wynne is currently serving as interim president. He recently completed his service as the Dean of the Faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

12:13 PM UPDATE: The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education has completed the interviews of the three finalists for the position of the President of the University of North Dakota. Board Chairman Nick Hacker says the board will reconvene into executive session at approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.

ORIGINAL STORY: The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education is in the final stages of the search for the newest President of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Three candidates are being interviewed today. They are Dr. Andrew Armacost, Dr. David Rosowsky and Dr. Laurie Stenberg Nichols.

Shortly after noon, the board is expected to enter into executive session to consider the appointment of, and contract terms for, the next President.
