HHS awards nearly $1.4 million for Health Services and Head Start Programs

 

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) approved two grants totaling $1,383,787 for health services and Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

  • The Administration for Children and Families Office of Head Start under HHS awarded the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe a grant of $1,327,653. The discretionary funds will be used to finance American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) Head Start and Early Head Start Programs for Standing Rock in Fort Yates.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under HHS awarded the North Dakota Department of Health a grant of $56,134. This discretionary grant will be used to fund the North Dakota Tuberculosis Elimination and Laboratory Support Project.
