Hoeven to host agriculture roundtable

On Friday, December 27, Senator John Hoeven will hold a roundtable discussion with North Dakota producers and agriculture leaders to outline the additional $1.5 billion in disaster funding that he secured in the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 funding bill. As chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has been working with USDA to help producers in North Dakota and across the country impacted by severe weather and natural disasters affecting harvest. In addition to the disaster funding, available through the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+), the bill clarifies eligible disaster events and authorizes USDA to cover quality losses.

The roundtable begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Richard H. Berry Hall on the NDSU campus.
