SHS CTE Teacher Named North Dakota ACTE Teacher of the Year

 

The North Dakota Association for Career & Technical Education (NDACTE) has named Sheyenne High School’s Mrs. Holly Strand-Rysgaard the NDACTE Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Strand-Rysgaard was presented the award at this week’s Career & Technical Education Professional Development Conference in Bismarck.

According to the Association of Career & Technical Education’s website, the state-level Teacher of the Year award “recognizes the finest career and technical teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students, and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities.”

Mrs. Strand-Rysgaard has worked as a health careers teacher for West Fargo Public Schools since 2013. She has previously served as the NDACTE President-Elect in 2016-2017 and the NDACTE President in 2017-2018. As the state-level award winner, Mrs. Strand-Rysgaard will attend the Region V conference in Bozeman, MT in April, where she will be considered for the regional-level award.
