Sheyenne Street Closure Looms

Sheyenne Street will close to all traffic from 32nd Avenue W. to 26th Avenue W. beginning the night of Tuesday, Aug. 14. This closure is expected to last eight weeks. The closure will allow construction crews to safely and efficiently complete pavement removals, utility replacements, and concrete paving in this stretch of the project.

Northbound residents are encouraged to detour west at 32nd Avenue W. to travel north on Ninth Street W. to 26th Avenue W. to continue north on Sheyenne Street. Alternatively, northbound residents can use Veterans Boulevard to travel to their destinations north of I-94. Southbound residents are encouraged to detour west at 26th Avenue W. to Ninth Street W. and then travel south to 32nd Avenue W. to connect with Sheyenne Street.

To prepare for the closure and detour via Ninth Street W. crews have installed temporary traffic signals at the intersection of 32nd Avenue W. and Ninth Street W. that will be activated before the closure. The portable traffic signals installed at the Sheyenne Street and 32nd Avenue W. intersection will also be adjusted for the change in traffic pattern. Detour signage will be installed in the closure and detour area Sunday, Aug. 12, to prepare motorists for the change.
