Train, vehicle collide in Grand Forks

 

On Monday, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the 1600 block of Old Mill Road involving a train and a semi-truck.

Initial investigation determined that a BNSF train was traveling north bound on the tracks and struck an east bound semi-truck.  The semi-truck, driven by Travis Bitker, 31, of Bemidji, Minn., was traveling through yard of the State Mill at the time of the crash.  The BNSF train was traveling north bound at approximately five to 10 miles per hour on the track when it made contact with the semi-truck. There were no reported injuries.
