Firefighters respond to Polk County apartment building fire call

On Monday, at approximately 4:08 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Mcintosh Fire Department, Erskine Fire Department, and Essentia Ambulance responded to the Seabee Apartment building in the City of Mcintosh for a report of a possible fire in one of the apartments.

Upon arrival, all residents were already evacuated from the building. It was discovered that an oven was left on in a basement apartment and appears to be the cause of the fire. There were no reported injuries and nothing appeared suspicious about the fire.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted with the investigation. No further information will be made available, and this case will be closed.
