Ground Broken on Dickey County Wind Farm

Ground has broken on the Foxtail Wind Farm in Dickey County. According to Mark Nisbet, North Dakota Principal Manager for Xcel Energy, the 75 turbines will put out 150 megawatts of power over nearly 20,000 acres of land. With those turbines, nearly 80,000 homes will be provided power, Nisbet says. West Fargo-based Wanzek will build the project. A local company building the project was important to Xcel, Nisbet says. With ground broken on Thursday, the project has now begun. It should wrap up by the end of 2019.
