On Wednesday, January 22, at 2:42 p.m., the Hawley Police Department was dispatched to a medical call within the 500 Block of 5th Street, in the City of Hawley, Clay County.
The nature of the call was for a two-year-old child having an unknown medical issue. The child was transported by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
The next day, Thursday, law enforcement was notified that child had passed away and that the Cass County Coroner's Office would be conducting the death investigation.
An autopsy was performed in Grand Forks on Friday, January 24. No further information is available at this time. Autopsy results are pending; the investigation is ongoing.
