Hospice of the Red River Valley to participate in Giving Hearts Day

Hospice of the Red River Valley will participate in Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) and Impact Foundation’s 2020 Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour online fundraising event that will be held on Feb. 13, 2020. When you make a donation of $10 or more on that day, your donation to Hospice of the Red River Valley will be multiplied thanks to a generous donor. Funds raised will be used to provide compassionate care to terminally ill people of all ages—from infants to elderly.

Brandi and Trent Niemeier experienced the tender care of Hospice of the Red River Valley for their infant son, Gauge. Shortly after Gauge was born, doctors discovered he had a rare heart disorder called pulmonary vein stenosis. For nearly six months, hospice professionals helped the Niemeiers care for their son in their rural home. They encourage our community members to give from their hearts to support Hospice of the Red River Valley’s care.

“Gauge received care from Hospice of the Red River Valley for nearly six months. He lived three months longer than expected. We fully attribute this to his constant care and attention, and our ability to focus completely and positively on him,” Brandi said. “Hospice of the Red River Valley made this possible. The outcomes would have been very different had we not had Hospice.”

“Gauge had a very full life, and we got so many quality moments with him,” Brandi continued. “From the start of having Hospice and throughout, and even following Gauge’s death, we had foundational support through Hospice. We were able to be a family and that would not have been possible without the support from Hospice of the Red River Valley.”

There are three easy ways to support Hospice of the Red River Valley on Giving Hearts Day:

• Online: On Feb. 13, visit givingheartsday.org and select Hospice of the Red River Valley.
• By check: Checks should be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley and dated Feb. 13, 2020. Donations must reach the Hospice office (1701 38th St. S. Suite 101, Fargo, ND 58103) on or before Feb. 13, 2020, to be counted toward our Giving Hearts Day total.
• In advance: Now through Feb. 11, you can pre-schedule your online donation. Simply visit givingheartsday.org and select Hospice of the Red River Valley. Add your donation amount and go to your cart to check out. Make sure "Schedule this Gift" is checked in your cart when you complete your order. Your gift will be processed on Giving Hearts Day.
