Cass County Electric Cooperative’s consumer-members experiencing blinks and outages due to ice and frost build up on powerlines

Cass County Electric Cooperative’s consumer-members are experiencing blinks and outages due to ice and frost build-up on powerlines.

Valley City and Fort Ransom areas of our service territory are experiencing scattered small outages and power blinks due to heavy frost and ice build-up on overhead power lines.

Crews are working diligently to clear the lines of frost and ice. We have had reports of lines as low 5 feet off the ground! Stay at least 50 feet away from any low or down powerlines. These conditions are also impacting our energy partners from Minnkota Power Cooperative.

If you see sagging power lines, powerlines on the ground, or experience an outage, please use the Cass County Electric mobile app or call our 24/7 power control center 701-356-4400 to report an outage.
